Los Ángeles – Cruz Alta 2024
Natural Red Wine – 100% Garnacha
Campo de Borja, Spain
From a single high-altitude vineyard perched over 700 meters above sea level in the rugged foothills of the extinct Moncayo volcano, Cruz Alta 2023 is a pure and expressive Garnacha rooted in ferrous clay and limestone soils. Dry-farmed from 35+ year-old vines, this natural wine is crafted following the Vin Méthode Nature philosophy—minimal intervention with maximum character.
In the glass, it presents a deep ruby hue. The nose is vivid and layered, ripe blackberries and black cherries meet hints of white pepper, brambly raspberries and subtle baking spice. There’s even a whisper of baked peach lending an intriguing touch of warmth and sun-drenched fruit.
On the palate, it’s juicy and generous with a medium to full body, offering supple structure and energetic acidity. The fruit remains front and center, red cherries and forest berries—framed by spice and a mineral backbone that speaks clearly of its volcanic and limestone terroir. The finish is lifted, fruity, and long, leaving a lingering echo of spice and crushed stone.
A soulful, terroir-driven Garnacha that captures the wild elegance of Campo de Borja. Drink slightly chilled with grilled vegetables, roasted mushrooms, or aged Manchego.
