Our modest contribution to the orange madness hitting the Netherlands in the coming few days!
Matic – PetNat Orange
Slovenia
Raw, rustic, cloudy and lively sparkling wine, extremely reflective of the terroir it came from.
Explosive, yeasty, rustic minerality, apple, pear, pineapple.
GraWu – Pinot Grigio 2019
Italy
A Pinot Grigio out of any scheme, but conquers at the first sip. Red fruits, hints of wood and limestone in a dress of fine tannins giving freshness and long aftertaste..
Terpin – Ribolla Gialla 2015
Italy
Salty whiff, dried apricot, hay and chestnut honey. Smoothly resinous with traces of aged balsamic. The faint floral aromatic profile is holding the tension between dried fruit and citrus zest in perfect balance. For natural wine lovers this is definitely a must try.
Sepp Muster – Gräfin 2014
Gräfin from Sepp Muster is an iconic Austrian orange wine. The 100% Sauvignon Blanc is a slightly cloudy, complex natural wine. Balancing between minerality and smokiness, with two years ageing in large foudres, it is rounding up in a long finish.
Maurer – Orion 2020
Serbia
Aroma dominated by apricot, dry fruits and traces of quince.
After some time in the glass the wine releases a floral, hay and acacia honey resonance.
Emerging pine resin in combination with salted caramel and candied orange zest creates an irresistible flavour wedlock. Bright, lively acidity with silky tannins gliding across the palate frame this unique wine as one of the Wabi Sabi wonders.
Maurer – Tamjanika 2019
Serbia
Undeniably aroma of ripe grapes and elderflowers and then a real storm of it.
Tamjanika 2019 had short skin contact and sur-lie. It’s bottled with fine lees resulting in a richer wine with great depth and complexity of flavour. Ballistic! Advanced – next level of Wine Game.
