Rennersistas – In the Hell Mood 2023
Austria, Burgenland, Gols
A remarkably elegant Pét-Nat that drinks with the sophistication of a fine Crémant. Made from 100% St. Laurent vinified as a Blanc de Noir, this release spent an incredible 2.5 years on the lees, before disgorging in April this year.
Expect a razor-sharp profile of tart white cherry, bruised apple, and yuzu, framed by super-fine bubbles and a chalky, saline finish.
Zero additives, pure precision.
The Nose:
Delicate, high-toned white florals instantly lift from the glass, offering notes of chamomile, elderflower, and apple blossom.
The Palate:
The natural carbonation acts as a magnifying glass for the St. Laurent’s acidity, making the fruit profile exceptionally bright and sharp. The core shifts heavily toward orchard fruits like bruised red apple and quince, interwoven with crisp, tart red berries—think white cherry, unripe wild strawberry, sour plum, and sharp cranberry.
The Finish:
A zesty, electric snap of white grapefruit, pomelo, and sharp lemon rind cuts through, leading to a beautifully clean, chalky, and saline minerality that lingers without the interference of tannins.
