Botunjac – Jagoda 2017
Jagoda
Botunjac Jagoda is a dry white wine of the indigenous grape variety Jagoda.
In the village of Donje Zleginje in the region of Župa on the family estate Botunjac, 230km south of Belgrade, world class wines Botunjac are created with an uncanny blend of tradition, technology and love of the eternal beverage.
Century-old tradition:
The family has been growing grapes since it arrived in Župa. Grandfather Vucko and father Slavimir, who now drink wines with the angels, were renowned grape growers and winemakers. Maternal grandfather Dragomir, who now toasts with St. Peter, was likewise a renowned winemaker and wine merchant. Today Kosta Botunjac is upholding that tradition. People call him the best artist amongst winemakers and best winemaker amongst artists.
Unique white wine, brought to life for the first time in Kosta Botunjac’ wine cellar. Made from the fruits of an old “strawberry” type of grapevine, growing in the famous Serbian wine region Župa. Jagoda wine is exclusively and only bottled in this winery.
The very grapes come from the private vineyard and are planted by Kosta Botunjac, who is striving to preserve it for generations to come. Unfiltered, cold stabilization, made with wild yeasts and without the use of pumps.
