Amfora Aged
Skin Contact Wine
This is a modern styled wine made using a very ancient method. Clay vessels, or amfora, have been used for centuries in winemaking but in modern times have fallen out of style in favor of both oak and steel. Aging with the grape-skins is a technique to bring body, flavor, and ageability to an otherwise lighter styled wine.
Tasting Notes
Deep golden color. Nose of stewed apples- with time lemon citrus and even rose petals. Slight sherry, juicy pineapple, olive on the finish. Firm acidity cleanses the palate.
Vinification
Selectively hand-harvested in early morning for optimal flavor. Macerated for over 200 days with skin contact in a clay amphora. The wine is bottled by hand with love, always unfiltered & unfined.
