This Ocho Kisi wine is crafted from the Kisi grape, a native Georgian variety grown in the vineyards of the village of Chikaani, Kvareli, Kakheti. The wine spends 6 months in contact with the skins in the Qvevri, a traditional Georgian clay vessel, producing one of the most distinctive styles of qvevri wine. This bright amber-colored wine boasts a very subtle aroma with notes of dried apple. High in tannins, it is a quite high-acid wine with a beautiful, lingering finish.
In Georgian mythology, Ocho is revered as the protector of forests and wild animals. The Ocho Winery labels feature precious animals from Georgia’s fauna that are at risk of extinction. As you enjoy this wine, made in an ancient way, and gaze at these mysterious creatures, you may find yourself reflecting on your place in the world
