Saturday 18. June from 13:00 hrs – 18:00 hrs
Craft Wine and Today’s together organise an Italian Wine Tasting Event. Navigating through Italy from north to south we have a line-up of terroir driven wines, made by a new generation of winemakers. For those loving real Italian food, the artisan caterer Today’s offers a selection of tasty bites to go with the wines.
alto adige
Starting in Alto Adige, we present GraWü Chardonnay, by an Italo-German couple, Leila GRAsselli and Dominic WÜrth, happily settled in the small village of Cermes, not far from the Austrian-Italian border. 5 days skin contact and 12 months ageing in oak barrels, extremely well-balanced, fresh and mineral with fruity notes of apple and pear.
emilia
Going down to Emilia encountering Casè Winery, led by two friends Alberto and Diego making their dream as winemakers come true. You see a youthful and fresh Pinot Noir from younger vines. The palate is lively, balanced, simultaneously providing a wonderful sensation of red fruits and smooth tannins.
abruzzo
Then Abruzzo…
Rabasco Cancelli Rosato. Medium-bodied rosé from the Montepulciano grape, a great balance between structure and acidity with notes of redcurrants and strawberries. Joyful juicy starter at any moment and a playful wine pairing perfectly with pizza, pasta or Italian antipasto.
campania
In the south of Italy the region Campania, where we find the Enoz family, farmers and winegrowers for generations. The members of the family dedicated themselves to vinification exclusively in Amphora. L’attimo is one of their white wines from the local grape Falanghina, an orange wine with scent of ripe apple and pear, with savoury tones and definite mineral touch.
sicily
Last but not least the most southern region Sicily, where azienda agricola Virà works with both local grapes like Catarratto and Nero d’Avola and with international varieties. Splendid nature, mild climate and proximity to the sea on the northern side of Sicily, their orange Catarratto reflects the terroir, with stone fruit tones, a fresh sea breeze and mild tannins.
